HEARTBREAKING tributes have flooded in for a Brazilian man who died suddenly in Ireland last week.
Derick Ranzer tragically passed away following a cardiac arrest while he was playing football on Wednesday, October 16.
The 22-year-old, from Manaus, was remembered as an energetic young man who was “loved” by all.
Derick was in Europe for a few months on an exchange program.
Friends told how Derick was hoping to make his way back to Brazil.
They said: “Derick was full of life, loved by everyone who knew him, and he had the dream of returning to Brazil later this year, to be alongside his friends and family.
“Sadly, that dream has been cut short, and we now come together to ensure he can return home one final time.”
Derick’s body needs to be transported from Ireland to Brazil.
A fundraiser has been set up to help the family repatriate his body and hold his funeral.
Some of the funds will also provide financial support for Derick’s family as they navigate the difficult months ahead.
The organiser said: “We want to ensure they have the peace of mind to cope with this tragic loss without the added stress of immediate expenses.
“Derick was a generous soul, a loyal friend, and someone with a heart of gold.
“Any help, whether through donating or sharing this fundraiser, will be deeply appreciated.
“We wish to give him the dignified farewell he deserves and offer his family the support they need.
“Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness.”
So far, €3,398 has been raised of the €20,000 goal.
